ASMN Member Wins a 5,000 Euros Grant for a Sustainable Cassava Farming Project in South-West, Nigeria

We are delighted to share exceptional news with our African Scholars Mentorship Network (ASMN)-DIaDeRC (DePECOS Institutions and Development Research Centre) community and the general public. Waidi Gbenro ADEBAYO, a doctoral candidate at the Universität Witten/Herdecke in Germany and an esteemed member of the African Scholars Mentorship Network (ASMN), has secured a research grant to carry out a Sustainable Cassava Farming Research in South West, Nigeria (2024-2025). This grant will play a pivotal role in advancing his research and sustainability efforts in the field of cassava farming. This remarkable achievement, generously supported by Cavalo de Madeira Lda, Portugal, is a testament to Waidi Gbenro Adebayo’s scholarly dedication and the effectiveness of the African Scholars Mentorship Network (ASMN) hosted by DIaDeRC.

The grant will contribute directly to the project’s success by helping to achieve project milestones and supporting various initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, training, site preparation, the implementation of sustainable farming practices and the preparation and publication of findings.
