In line with our divine mandate to cultivate knowledge for the advancement of African scholars, DePECOS Institutions and Development Research Centre (DIaDeRC) proudly presents DIaDeRC HR (also called DIaDeRC Job Portal), a startup designed to bridge the gap between employers and highly qualified candidates within research organizations, academic institutions, civil society, and government bodies.
The launch of DIaDeRC HR Solutions took place on February 15, 2024, during the opening ceremony of the recent DIaDeRC-TASUED workshop themed: “Grant Writing, Winning, and Cultivating a Rewarding Scholarly Career.” This workshop convened esteemed African scholars from top institutions nationwide, offering them a platform to master crucial skills such as grant writing, qualitative and quantitative research techniques, literature review, and data management, essential for a well-rounded scholarly journey.
At the forefront of this launch was Professor Evans Osabuohien, the Chair of DIaDeRC, who delivered a poignant opening address. Reflecting on the inception of DIaDeRC HR Solutions, Professor Evans recounted the series of fortuitous events that led to its establishment. Over time, DIaDeRC received numerous requests for candidate referrals for various job openings across Africa’s research, academic, and civil sectors. Responding to this demand, the team at DIaDeRC would broadcast these vacancies across our platforms, collate responses, and forward shortlisted resumes and CVs to interested companies.
However, with the advent of DIaDeRC HR, we now fill this crucial void, providing a seamless platform for both job seekers and employers. Job seekers can easily sign up on our HR platform, accessing and applying for openings globally. Employers, on the other hand, can create accounts, advertise vacancies, schedule interviews, manage candidate selection, and facilitate hiring processes, all from the comfort of their offices.
DIaDeRC HR stands as a timely platform for sourcing candidates in research, academia, and civil service roles, boasting a community of over 1000 accomplished researchers and academics with diverse skill sets and extensive experience. Notably, many of our community members have recently secured positions at prestigious institutions such as the World Bank and leading global nonprofit and research organizations like Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), OpenBinnacle, among many others.
