DIaDeRC Members Join Others to Advance Ideas for Sustainable Agri-Food Systems

The importance of microfinancing and access to land equity were the thrust of presentations delivered by notable members of DePECOS Institutions and Development Research Centre (DIaDeRC) at the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE, 2024) held at New Delhi, India between Friday 2nd and Wednesday 7th August, 2024.

The conference with the theme ‘Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems,’ saw Dr Romanus Osabohien presented a paper titled “Land Access, Youths and Women Agricultural Engagement in Africa: Insights from Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis in Nigeria” while Dr Abiola Olarinre of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, presented a paper titled “Does Microfinance Participation affect Food Insecurity? Empirical evidence from Fish Farmers in Osun State Nigeria. 

The conference offered a distinctive platform, providing a unique opportunity for the agricultural academic institutions and researchers to convene in person, exchange knowledge, and actively contribute to the global agricultural research community. This International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) flagship conference attracted about a thousand scholars, professionals and stakeholders from around the world.
