The National Budget Roundtable and Panel Discussion (NBR), organised annually by Covenant University’s Centre for Economic Policy Development and Research (CEPDeR), provides a forum for diverse stakeholders to discuss the role of national budgeting in socio-economic development. The NBR 2025 is themed “National Budgeting as a Critical Tool for Reducing Poverty and Inequalities Amidst Energy Transition,”. It focuses on the national budget as a key instrument in alleviating poverty and addressing inequality within the context of Nigeria’s energy transition.
As it was done in 2024, some members of the DIaDeRC Team and the African Scholars Mentorship Network (ASMN) are prepared to be part of the hybrid event (both physically and virtually). Interestingly, one of the DIaDeRC’s Advisory Board Members, Prof Franklyn Lisk, is one of the panellists who will be attending the event on-ground.
