Dr Marcus T. Adedara attained his Ph.D in Tourism, Hospitality, and Events Management from Afe Babalola University, Nigeria. His programme, emphasising a collaborative approach, honed his expertise in consumer decision-making processes, particularly those influenced by social media interactions. He earned a Master of Science in Tourism Development from the University of Ibadan, where his research focused on sustainable tourism practices. He is a revered member of multiple professional associations, including the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprise Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Fine & Applied Art from Obafemi Awolowo University, ACE, Ondo. This diverse educational background enriches his multidisciplinary approach to both teaching and research. Following his mandatory national service, Dr Adedara advanced to his current position as a Senior Lecturer in Tourism & Events Management at Afe Babalola University. He teaches a wide range of courses from undergraduate to postgraduate levels, including Events and Hospitality Management, Sustainable Special Events Planning, and Tourism Destination Marketing.

His research interests focus on the utilisation of digital technologies to enhance customer engagement and the standardisation of cultural preservation within the hospitality industry. He is an active reviewer for several academic journals, contributing significantly to the broader understanding of the dynamic nature of event management. In 2019, he was appointed as the Google Business Group Lead for Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. In this role, he organised Digital Skills training targeting small and medium-scale businesses, enhancing their operational capabilities and digital presence.

Dr Adedara is committed to advancing academic and practical applications in his field through publishing high-quality research in leading journals. His dedication to the industry is recognised nationally, as he is listed among the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria. He also serves as the Vice President of the Computer Science Teachers Association and has been the National Director of the World Handwriting Contest since June 2017, roles that underscore his leadership and influence in both educational and professional circles.
