Dr. Neema Kumburu

Dr. Neema Kumburu is a Senior Lecturer at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) in the Department of Management, specializing in Administration and policy. Her academic background includes a PhD in Business Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Morogoro, Tanzania, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Public Service Management and a Master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Human Resource Management, both from Mzumbe University in Morogoro, Tanzania.
In her career, she served as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Fredskorpset [FK] Business Experience Exchange Programme [BEEP] at Bunda College of Agriculture, University of Malawi (February-December 2007). She also worked as a visiting lecturer in the SWAN Project at Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland in 2014. Her research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including Leadership, Governance, public sector reforms, Human resource management, strategic management, rural development, rural land reform, rural livelihoods and cooperatives, farmer’s organizations, entrepreneurship, and organizational development. She has extensive experience in teaching various program lengths and designing strategic plans and curricula.
Furthermore, she has a notable academic record, with numerous published papers in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. She has also held key administrative positions, such as Coordinator of the Centre for Co-operative Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre, Head of Department, Deputy Faculty Dean, Acting Dean, and Director of the Bureau of Consultancy Services at MoCU.
