The new book titled Socioeconomic Shocks and Africa’s Development Agenda -Lessons and Policy Directions in a Post-COVID-19 Era edited by the Chair & lead economist and his team (namely: Professor Gbadebo Odularu, Dr Daniel Ufua and Dr Romanus Osabohien) was recently released in November 2022. The book was published by Routledge (Taylor and Francis Group).
The focus of the book is on how African countries can respond to socio economic shocks by developing learning from the incidences accruable to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. This will facilitate a pragmatic process of creativity and innovation aimed at formulating suitable policy measures towards mitigating the effects, across sectors in African economies.
The book encapsulates 18 main chapters apart from the introduction and conclusion. The content draws from different contributing authors across different disciplinary backgrounds and geographical representations, which further add insightful value to the masterpiece. The findings in the book are of relevance to policymakers, development agencies, researchers and practitioners within and outside Africa.
