Through ASMN i have gained good knowledge in grant proposal writing, what to look out for if you want to publish in highly rated journals, how to handle rejection. More importantly, i have the privilege of working with a renowned Africa researcher as Mentor. I am enjoying my new found career because i joined this network. ASMN is second to none so far. It has helped me as an African Scholar and as a beginner gained quality insight on Research and the way out. With the continuous knowledge gained from this network, I think my research papers will make great impact. I was privileged to have participated in the maiden series of the African Scholars Mentorship Network (ASMN) program. The program was a great value addition as I gained practical knowledge and skills critical for my professional and career development. I strongly recommend the program for early and mid career researchers and academics.

I must admit that being part of asmin was one of the most important decisions I ever made regarding my scholarly journey. I learnt so much through out the episodes. How to handle rejections, collaborations, resilience, publishing in reputable outlets, importance of team work and above all, the research pyramid. In a nutshell, it was a scholarly episodes filled with beauty, colour and knowledge. It was also highly interactive. This for sure can't be forgotten in a hurry. My participation in the African Scholars mentorship network has sparked research interest in me. As a young researcher, I found out that there are a lot of things I have not been doing in building my career. This mentorship network opened my eyes to the constant need to update my CV thereby, scouting for training online and onsite that I can participate in. Also, I discovered the need to collaborate and network with my peers at my level. The session on grant and motivation letter writing session has equipped me with the necessary writing skills needed to write a winning motivation letter and proposals for the grants. This experience goes a long way to make me a successful researcher.

As a young researcher with a passion for advancement, my participation in the ASMN 1.0 cohort has enriched me with invaluable insights and ideas that steered me to success. The mentorship program not only infused me with motivating concepts for successes in grant writing and winning but also ignited a renewed determination to consistently excel, encouraging me to strive for excellence and maintain unwavering focus. Moreover, the shared opportunities on the platform have proven beneficial to my growth.
